This overview will help you understand the snipping process and what happens to your snips after they are captured. Please take a few moments to read it.

Where did my snip go?

The first thing you need to understand about the snipping process is what happens to the content when you snip it.

PageSnip has two main components. These are the Snip Assistant and the PageSnip Manager.

The PageSnip Assistant

When you capture a snip by any means, the snip is placed in the care of the PageSnip Assistant.

From the menu of the PageSnip Assistant you can use your snips right away (such as Print, Save to an external HTML or MHT file, Create a PDF of the snip) or you can File it with the PageSnip Manager for use in the future and so it can be a part of your searchable web content.

You can also edit the snip in the PageSnip HTML editor to make formatting changes or remove additional page elements.

The PageSnip Manager ( Professional Version only )

The PageSnip Manager is used to file your snipped content so you can use it later. Think of it as a personalized website where you can easily browse your stored snips or search for content among them.

Unlike some programs that simply save content as full HTML pages to disk in an unmanaged fashion, the Professional version of PageSnip only stores the snipped content itself. This allows you to easily change the formatting of entire snip collections or the way your snips are organized without the need to open each snip one at a time and make changes to individual snips.
