Hide or Remove Selection
Previous  Top  Next

A powerful feature of PageSnip is the ability to remove any element or selection from a web page.

Hint: Remember that a selection can be made in many ways as shown here.

Once you have your selection, just right-click and take the Remove Item or Selection option:

The item you selected will disappear from the page!

Hint:
if you make a mistake - don't panic! The content you removed is not really gone (you are not destroying someone's website), it is simply removed in your browser. If you want to start over, click the Refresh icon on your browser or press F5.

The difference between REMOVE and HIDE features.

PageSnip has a similar feature that will "hide" the selection. The difference is that the HIDE feature will not change the formatting of the page, but the REMOVE feature will.

Consider this extreme example where we select a sentence from a paragraph:

If we use the HIDE feature on the selection we get this:

Notice that the sentence simply disappears - but that the paragraph retains its formatting.

If we use the REMOVE feature on the selection we get this:

Notice that the paragraph has collapsed and the empty space where the sentence was has disappeared.

Hint:
combining the remove feature with the Edge Finder makes it easy to remove a block of advertisements from a section of the page that you are about to snip. Just toggle on the Edge Finder, position the mouse over the dashed line around the block of ads, right-click and select the Remove option!
