Hint: This is a "context sensitive" action. You will NOT see any of the text formatting options unless you have taken the mouse and "selected" some text.
After you select any text, position the mouse over the selected text and right-click to display this menu:
There are five text formatting options:
Highlight - display the selected text with a yellow background
Highlight and Bold - display the selected text with a yellow background and bold text.
Highlight and Underline - display the selected text with a yellow background and underlined
Highlight, Bold and Underline - display the selected text with a yellow background, bold text and underlined
Remove Formatting - remove text formatting from the selected text.
